Redshirt
After Sawdust Charley dissolved in California, the members, except for Ratzlaff and Feldner, gradually returned to Wichita and in the mid-80s, formed Redshirt with Jim Kent on keyboard and sax. They played regularly around town for quite a few years and opened shows for well-known acts: Ricky Nelson, Tree Dog Night, Steppenwolf and the Big Reunion with Mike Finnigan.

Here’s a recording of when they opened for Rick Nelson at the Cotillion Ballroom, Wichita, KS. When talking about Nelson, Mike Ehrke described him as “The son of Oz in the Land of Oz”. Ha! What a great line.
