Here’s a recording of Sawdust Charley from a two night performance at The King Cole Inn on Oct. 1 & 2 in 1975.  This was a few months before Porkey Beeton made his bootleg recording in the same bar, and you’ll hear a few differences in the play list.  

Some highlights on this tape are: 

• The Only Time I’m Sober (IWYG) (Track 1) – Since this is the only copy found so far, it’s being included even though it’s not complete.
• I’m A Loser (Track 8)  Only version found so far.
• Close Up The Honky Tonks (Track 24)  Only version found so far.
• Trucker’s CB radio – (Track 14) Right at the start of Mike’s song, ‘Saddle Tramp Cowboy’ a trucker comes through the P.A. (see CB)
• BIG BUX – Track 17 – 19.  After track 16, Sawdust Charley takes a break and the band BIG BUX sets up and does a few songs.  Pretty sure the members include 1 or more of the Jones Brothers Band,  and possibly Kip Ehrke, Mike’s brother.
