In Nashville, Ratzlaff had a spurt of creativity in September of 1991, and put music to the lyrics of 12 songs, written by Hopper that had been lanquishing for...well some of them , for years. These were recorded by Ratzlaff, and released by the end of that year. The cassette tape was called Tricks of the Trade and made extensive use of technology to create multi-layered harmony and full instrumental accompaniment.
Two technologies that were used were MIDI, which had been around for awhile, coupled with an electronic synthesizer / sequencer. To learn more about how this was done, click here
