The Dry Dock Inn in Cheney, KS, became a great little spot for Sawdust Charley gigs.  Right on the lake, in the middle of nowhere, it drew from a lot from local rural communities, and it was close enough to Wichita to still attract their die-hard fans from Doo-Dah.
